Experiment with Bubblews and Examiner

To contact us Click HERE
I have been with Examiner since January of 2012 so it has been almost a year. It will be exactly a year on the 23rd of this month actually. Since then, I have only written and published 18 articles and have made a whole $5 so far. A friend of mine is making great money with them but has 3 different channels. I only had one and haven't made crap in the almost year I have been with them. So I decided to apply to two new channels and was approved for both of them yesterday. I am now not only the Columbus Writing Examiner but I am now also the Columbus TV Examiner and the Columbus Celebrity Examiner. The reason I picked these two channels is because my writer friend has them plus her writing channel and is making good money with them. She is the Detroit Examiner for writing, TV and celebrity and Examiner is now her main job. I have a full time job I do through Odesk that has nothing to do with writing, it is a research job, but I wanted to try to make some actual real money with my writing besides the little bit I get here and there upfront from clients. So here is what I am going to do with Examiner:

I am going to write one article each day for each channel I am signed up for. I will either do this before I start my research job in the morning, in between breaks for my research job or once I get my final 4 hours in, in the evening. I will then see how much I am making and report back here to let everyone know what my earnings are and if they are increasing or not.

Now about Hubpages and Bubblews. Hubpages earnings have dropped since there was a new Google update and they made some changes at Hubpages. So I have deleted my idle hubs and am going to put them on Bubblews. I haven't published an article for Bubblews since I started actually. I have two articles up there but people are actually making money with them so I am going to experiment with them as well. I will put my 6 idle hubs on Bubblews and also write one for them each day and report back here to let everyone know if my earnings have gone up. I am about done with Hubpages but will keep putting at least one article a week there and see what happens with it. If the articles I post on Hubpages don't do well, I will take them down, rewrite them and put them on Bubblews.

Update on Experiment: Success Already!

Yesterday was a good day. Although I only got an hour in for my main gig because the website was acting up, I was able to write for Examiner and Bubblews. I have some good news on the experiment I am doing for these two revenue share writing sites.

As mentioned in a previous post, I was approved for two new channels on Examiner on Monday; Celebrity and TV. Well, I wrote two articles yesterday for my celebrity channel and earned 50 cents on these two articles already. My earnings for this month are now a little over $1 and I have just started. This is really good for revenue share!

As for Bubblews, I wrote three articles for them and earned 45 cents on them. This is also good because the articles did not have to be researched. I simply took them down from Hubpages and rewrote them to submit them to Bubblews. Not bad for something I just rewrote, right?

I am going to work my main job for at least 6 hours today but in between breaks. I am going to write like crazy! Let's see what tomorrows earnings brings.

Another Update on Examiner and Bubblews

To contact us Click HERE
Although I am not writing for Examiner and Bubblews as much as I would like to because of other work, I am seeing a big increase in page views and earnings for both. It is not that big but bigger than I expected. I also received an email from Examiner this morning letting me know that I now have 600 page views on my articles there! That is awesome!

Here is my Examiner profile with all three channels on it.

Here is my Bubblews profile.

I will update more soon..

New Update on Examiner and Bubblews

First of all, I wrote this article this morning and it got featured by Examiner and the Entertainment section on Google News! I am doing great with Examiner and if you haven't applied yet, do it now! Here is the link to apply:  http://exm.nr/TVDfLr

Although I am not writing as much as I want there because there isn't enough time in the day to get everything done that I want and need to, since getting my celeb and tv channels, I am seeing a significant increase in page views and earnings. I love it there and so will you!

As for Bubblews, I don''t think I will write there until my friend gets paid because they are giving her a hard time about getting paid when they owe her the money. I am going to wait it out and find out what happens with her and then go from there. Will keep my readers updated when I find out something.

I have to get back to my boring main job now so I can write later but I wanted to share my success and happiness with everyone who reads this!

Exciting Update on Examiner!

Since ,my Charlie Brown article was featured yesterday, I was curious all day about how many views I would get. I logged in this morning to find I had received 970 views yesterday for that one article. I earned $6.38 off of that one article alone! Wow, that is awesome for revenue share.

I wish I had more time to write for them. I have already put 5 hours in at the main job today and have to put another 5 hours in here pretty soon to get caught up on my weekly hours. I need to get my hours in earlier in the week so I can write when I want.

If you are still wondering if you should apply for Examiner, stop wondering and just do it! If you love to write and want to earn some extra money from it, go to this link now! :)

New and Exciting Examiner Update!

Although my earnings haven't been going up as much as I expected, I am now in the #3 spot for Columbus TV Examiners and the #5 spot for Columbus Celebrity Examiners! How awesome is that! Examiner is so much fun and for me to be featured and getting my rankings so high already so soon after getting the TV and Celebrity channels, that is just awesome! I am concentrating this week on writing more for them while doing my other work. I can do it! Heck, I worked 14 hours straight yesterday with only a one hour break in between. I had to put in 8 straight hours for the Odesk gig without stopping even once and I then got to take a short break and switch gears and do some articles for a client really quick. I was tired but it got done!

Here are some links to check out for my stuff on Examiner and if you are ready to get started with them yourself, the link to apply is the last one:

The Bad of Some People Brings out the Best for me

To contact us Click HERE
I know my title is a little confusing but that is because something bad happened to me last night on one of my Examiner articles and yet, it brought the best rewards to me today. Let me explain; The other day, I wrote the article, Did Miley Cyrus Secretly get Married? Well, I didn't think anything of what had happened was actually going to happen. There I was yesterday, working on articles for a client. I finished a couple of them and decided to take a break and check my Examiner comments and stats. So, I went on my Dashboard and went to my articles to check them for comments and FB likes. I got to the Miley Cyrus article and noticed I had 57 FB likes and 1 Tweet. I was ecstatic at first because so many people had liked my article and I was getting a lot of page views. That is, until I scrolled down to check for comments. I had 11 so far and I started reading them. They were all mean comments to me. I got really upset and really mad. I was wondering what I did wrong to make them hate me so much. I pushed the computer away for a minute to regain myself and calm myself down.

When I got back on I read them again and then went to my favorite writing forum to tell my writer friends about it. I left the link to my article there so they could see it. One friend got back to me and said they were only saying those things because they all hate Miley Cyrus and were lashing out on me since they couldn't lash out on her. She said not to let them bother me. So I calmed down and went back to the article. I commented on a few of them and told them off. I also told them thank you for giving me the page views they were giving me.

This morning I log onto Examiner and the earnings and page views hadn't been updated yet so I proceeded to post in my other blog and write an article for Examiner while I waited to see how much I had earned. Finally, the time came and what I saw was so unexpected yet awesome! I had received over 17,000 page views yesterday, only wrote two articles for them and made $98 in one day. I know it is probably the Miley article because of all the hate comments and FB shares I received. So, these people actually did me a favor!

Another good thing happened to me just a little while ago. I submitted my Super Bowl Commercial Controversy article and went back to my Dashboard. Now just yesterday I was the #3 Columbus TV Examiner and the #4 Columbus Celebrity Examiner. As of this morning, I am now the #1 Columbus Celebrity Examiner and the #4 Columbus TV Examiner! So, this is why I wrote this blog post earlier, thanking the rude people for the page views and shares.

How awesome is it that I am in the #1 spot for Columbus Celebrity now? If you want to read my stuff, click the links below and subscribe, share and comment. You can also apply to become an Examiner writer yourself by clicking on the last link below.

Trip to Korea, 2012

Thanks to my wife(she sponsored), we had a wonderful trip to Korea in December 2012. It was an unplanned trip, and we just decided to join the tour a month ago prior to departure. Of course, it cost us quite a lot, but as opposed to what I always believe in, there are always other things which is more important than the money.
We joined a local travel agency, and paid RM4899 (Roughly USD 1600) per person for the trip. We were flying from Kuching, and due to the flight schedule, we were arranged to stay in Kuala Lumpur for a night before heading to Incheon, Korea. We spent a night at Nilai Spring Resort, which is about 30 minutes from LCCT/KLIA.
The flight to Korea took about 7 hours. We were advised to bring along all our jacket on board as it was winter in Korea, and temperature ranging from 2C to -6C. For those who like to experience extreme cold weather and snow, December is a good time to travel.
Upon arrival at Incheon Airport, we were 'attacked' by the freezing breeze that hit our face, and definitely not that comfortable for us from tropical country. Upon welcomed by our tour guide, Mr Yuan, a Korean who speaks better mandarin than me, we rushed to Gimbo Airport for our next flight to Jeju Island.
Before I proceed, probably I should explain roughly what was my intinery. The package included 7 days 6 night of stay in Korea, first 2 days at Jeju Island, third day to Nami Island, fourth day to Mount Sorak, fifth and sixth day at Seoul, Korea for the various attractions.
Flight to Jeju took about 50 minutes using Jeju Air, the air stewardess served us in long sleeve T-shirt with their cheerful smile and professional service. We were arranged to stay in Marina Hotel. As no programs at night, we walked around the hotel, and get ourselves some snack from 7-11 convenient store.
The next day, we went to a mandarin orange farm for some souvenirs, then head to a trekking mountain, sorry I couldn't recall the name. After that, we went and visit their Jeju 'Natives' village, in which they actively promoting their products, such as 'Horse's Bone Powder', 'Honey' etc. We had their famous 'black pork' as our lunch. Well, that's not me, and not my wife too. Just not in time to get a clear shot of the name of the mountain.
 Along the trekking path.
Shot from the top, took us about 30 minutes to reach the top.

Then in the afternoon, we managed to visit few museums, namely Teddy Bear Museum, Trick Art Museum.   Trick Art Museum

Making Kimchi lesson!
The next day, we flew back to Gimbo Airport via Jeju Air, and head straight to Nami Island. For Korean drama fans, Nami Island is famous for drama shooting - 'Winter Sonata'.  Famous Ginseng Chicken on the way to Nami Island

After dinner, we headed to HanWha Resorts for a night. Excellent Hotel.
The very next day we went to Mount Sorak, which is one of my favourite. Breath taking snowing scenery.
Temple at the end of the path.

Photo taken inside the cabel car at Mount Sorak.
After a cold long walk at Mount Sorak, we had a mushroom steamboat.
At Nami Island, where the film Winter Sonata was shot:

Hot red bean cake, 1000won.
Evening was our skiing session. Well, this was y first time, and of course I fell down a few times. But, it was fun!!! For those who travels during the winter period, please take some time, stop by at the skiing centre and practise falling down some skiing.

We stayed a night at Oak Valley Hotel, and of course another awesome hotel!
The next day is Everland Theme Park! However, due to the heavy snow, many of the outdoor activities were suspended. We can only afford to enjoyed some indoor ride, which is more suitable for family and kids. :(

This is Zoo Safari in the Everland, where you can sit back and relax in their bus, and enjoy a 20 minutes brisk ride, watching different animals.

This is Nanta Show, highly recommended! A must-go attraction spot.

Tonight, we stayed at S Hotel. We were arranged to shop a few famous spot at Seoul, such as their Korean Ginseng Outlets, Purple Crystal factory, SeaWeed Factory and their 'Hu Gan Bao' - a manufactured-in-Korea-only medicine which is used to clean one's liver and improves the functions. Of course, a set of those simply cost around USD1000+ EXCEPT for the seaweed, whcih cost around USD 10 per package. We shopped at 'Dongdaemun' at night,  and my wife had her spending spree there.
Another meal of Ginseng Chicken, this time with Abalone.

We also visited the place where their previous emperor stays.

In the evening, again we shop till drop at 'Myeongdong'.

Last breakfast at Korea, Udon.

Finally, I changed from DiGi to Celcom

To contact us Click HERE

After a decade, to be exact 11 years of using DiGi, finallyI have made up my mind to switch to Celcom postpaid last week.
Well, I have given enough chance for DiGi to improve, however, still they provide relatively poor coverage as compared to otherservice provider. Especially at my place of work, which is about 30 minutesfrom Kuching town, DiGi has no 3G, and not even EDGE. I had a contract signedwith them 2 years ago for an iPhone 4, thus I have no choice but to stick to itfor about 2 years.
The circle next to DiGi icon means no 3G, or no EDGE
Without 3G and EDGE, I can barely surf a page, probably ittakes about 2-3 minutes to load a page, and forget about Facebook, it won’tload. I can’t really remember the DiGi plan I subscribed 2 years back, butmonthly payment is about RM60++, with 1Gb quota and some free talk time and SMS.

Though it took me 3 working days for complete port forwarding from DiGi to Celcom, but it's worth the wait.
Celcom 3G at same areaWith the new plan I subscribed from Celcom, they offer RM68per month, with 3Gb data quota, 60 minutes talk time and some amount of SMS andMMS. True enough, Celcom provides me with 3G, I mean really fast 3G at my workplace, and I can enjoy Internet freely at anywhere. :)

One Adsense Earning beats my Total Nuffnang Earnings

I recently cashed out my Adsense earnings. As what I've expected, my Adsense earnings was more than my Nuffnang earnings, and the revenue generated through Adsense was in fact faster than I thought.
I started using Nuffnang probably about 3 years back, but only active in blogging for about a year. I have 4 cash out with Nuffnang, and my total Nuffnang earnings is about RM263 up to date. On the other hand, I've been using Adsense for about a year, and my earnings up to date is $115.23, which is roughly RM350.
(Click to Enalrge) Cheque arrival at my doorstep to Kuching.
The cheque together with the letter attached.

Close up view of the cheque, with the earnings of USD 115.23.

My Total Nuffnang Earnings
Pretty fast process time as compared to Nuffnang, Cheque issued on 21 December 2012, and arrived at my doorstep early Januray. Nuffnang will need 30 days from the end of the month when you cash out, for gliterati member, and as long as 60 days for non-gliterati member.
I know this amount is not much, many of you are probably doing way better than I do. However, this is all about a bonus for me to keep me moving forward and continue to blog.
Remember, Adsense earnings takes time, I started with only a few clicks per month, to about 400-600 clicks per month currently, average of 10-20 clicks per day. It's a satisfaction to see how your hard work you put into your blog has turned into monetary form.
For those who are still confuse whether to use Adsense or Nuffnang, or to use both, you can read more details at Adsense vs Nuffnang, or if you would like to achieve more on using Nuffnang alone, please read How to Earn from Nuffnang.
